Crewe FC in seventh heaven
11:10am Thursday 19th January 2012
CREWE took no prisoners in the Cheshire Football League Division Two this week, finishing 7-0 leaders in their home fixture against Maine Road Reserves.
PJ Hudson scored twice in the opening 24 minutes to hand Crewe some breathing room, before defender Anthony Tinsley got in on the act to add a third.
Hudson completed his hat-trick after 35 minutes to give Crewe a comfortable 4-0 lead at half time.
Matthew Worrall scored eight minutes after the restart before Mike Blundell made it six on the hour mark.
Danny Massey completed the rout with minutes left on the clock.
It is a dire warning for Maine Road, who are Crewe’s opposition in the forthcoming President’s Cup match.
A 3-2 win at Daten saw Sandbach United climb back into third spot on goal difference, having played the same number of games as fourth-placed Poynton.
Craig Malbon made it 1-0 with a free kick after 25 minutes and a penalty from Chris Jackson in the 75th minute brought Sandbach level after a good spell from Daten.
Ash Lawton was on hand to bag the winner with 10 minutes to play.
